Credentials and Counseling Experience:.  I am a licensed, clinical, professional counselor and I have a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University.  I earned a B.S. in Psychology and a B.S. in Religion from Liberty University in 2009.  I am licensed by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and I adhere to their code of ethics.

Counseling Approach:  My role as a counselor is to provide an environment of safety, trust and mutual respect with the individuals that I work with.  I work with adults, adolescents, couples, families and groups. I believe that counseling can assist the individual to develop an awareness of their personal strengths, clarify problems and arrive at solutions to deal with life situations.  I use an integrative or eclectic approach to counseling which means that I borrow different ideas from numerous theories that are tailored to the individual seeking help.  I am a believer in Jesus Christ and this belief allows me to draw upon the healing and hope that is found in a relationship with God.  This is my personal belief but I do not promote or discourage any religious denomination and will encourage spiritual development only upon the approval of the individual seeking counseling.  I am a member of and adhere to the Code of Ethics of the American Counseling Association and the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Confidentiality:   All counseling is confidential with the exceptions required by law.  These exceptions include instances when the client becomes a serious threat to self or others, when mandated by law or court order, where there are apparent or suspicious instances of current or past child or elder abuse or upon an insurance company’s request for information regarding fee reimbursement.

Length of Therapy and Handling of Fees:  Sessions are usually scheduled weekly but, other arrangements can be made with me.  Individual and couple’s sessions are 50 minutes in length.  Group sessions are 90 minutes.  Individual counseling fees are $65.00 per session.  If needed, fees can be assessed on a sliding scale based on the client’s gross income (limited availability). 24 hours notice of cancellation is required or the client is responsible for the full session fee.
